Tomasz Dowbor

Born in Warsaw, resident in Luanda since 1994. Chairman of the board of Grupo Boa Vida, founding president of the Mariusz Dowbor Foundation, and the developer behind Urbanização Boa Vida.

Warsaw, 1974

Tomasz Dowbor was born on 15 April 1974 in Warsaw, Poland. He attended a state primary school and a private secondary school in the same city. He read Theology and Philosophy at the Academy of Catholic Theology in Warsaw, and later took a postgraduate degree in Business Management at the Catholic University of Portugal, in Lisbon.

He is the son of Mariusz Dowbor, the Polish engineer who founded in 1996 the construction company from which Grupo Boa Vida grew. His brother, Wojciech Dowbor, is the group's chief executive.

Angola, 1994

Dowbor first came to Angola in 1994, at the invitation of a friend. He was twenty. He stayed, and began by producing and selling pizzas in Luanda. He is today an Angolan citizen and holds dual Polish and Angolan nationality.

Over three decades he has worked in the implementation, development and management of property projects. His record includes more than 10,000 homes delivered across 15 developments, among them Vereda das Flores, Ville Vermount, Solida Plaza, Real Park, Infinity I, Infinity II and Jóias do Camama.

Urbanização Boa Vida

He leads the construction of Urbanização Boa Vida, the largest urban development project in Angola, begun in 2014. With his brother Wojciech he invested more than one hundred million United States dollars in it between 2014 and 2016. The project is planned for more than 5,800 housing units.

He chairs the board of Grupo Boa Vida, a group with more than 28 years in the Angolan market whose main business is property, alongside industry and agriculture. The group reports more than 7,000 direct employees.

The foundation and the social programmes

Dowbor is the founding president of the Mariusz Dowbor Foundation, which he set up with his brother Wojciech and named after their father. It began activity on 8 December 2023 and was legally constituted on 16 May 2025. It has taken over the group's social work.

Programmes he started, and which the foundation inherited, include Talentos Angola, for youth training and placement; Embaixadores Boa Vida, for social action across the country; Feira da Arquitectura, a platform for architecture graduates; and the health screening programme for employees and their families. He has supported the Lar Mamã Madalena children's home in Cazenga with food and school aid for years.
